Date of first appearance of coronal hole in EUV at east limb:
Note: Characterized by an increase in solar wind speed from ~360 km/s at 2026-04-18T01:33Z to 500 km/s at 2026-04-18T05:07Z. An increase in temperature is observed at this time, increasing from 30,000 K to ~280,000 K at 2026-04-18T04:00Z. This signature is preceded by the arrival of a corotating interaction region, with Btotal increasing from ~3nT at 2026-04-17T12:15Z to 11nT at 2026-04-17T17:30Z and density increasing from ~2 p/cc to 35 p/cc before decreasing to background levels as the coronal hole high speed stream arrives at 2026-04-18T01:33Z. The candidate coronal hole spans approximately S20 to N40 and reached the central meridian on 2026-04-14.
